What drew you to the Robertson Program?
The opportunities offered by Robertson and my desire to grow as a leader were the two main factors that drew me to the Robertson Program. I was, and still am, excited about the prospect of being able to involve myself on two great campuses and to create meaningful experiences with the summer opportunities. The Robertson program has been instrumental in affording me opportunities that have pushed me to continue to grow both as a student and a leader.
How has your experience with the Robertson shaped your goals and career path?
The Robertson community — alumni and current scholars — has really opened my eyes to unique ways of pursuing my goals. That is, hearing about the different ambitions and experiences of the members of the community has not only enabled me to find peers with goals similar to my own, but also those who used the Robertson summers to have experiences I would have never thought of. This has caused me to really challenge myself to still pursue my current goals while trying to find exciting and unique experiences like my classmates.
What has been your favorite Robertson moment so far?
My favorite Robertson moment was the pre-orientation NOLS trip before my freshman year. Getting to know the scholars in my class was not only meaningful in its own right, but it was also very comforting to go into the school year with a group of passionate students to whom I’d already grown close. This meant that whether I am on Duke’s or UNC’s campus, I always have a group to reach out to.
